Barfeelee Antarctica बर्फ़ीली अंटार्कटिका

This poem is really special for my parents and me because it got nominated in a writing competition on Antarctica and I got a chance to meet Mr. Robert Swan. Mr. Robert Swan is a polar explorer, an environmentalist and the first person to have walked both the North Pole and the South Pole unsupported. In fact, I was the only one to write a poem in Hindi and it was specially translated for him to know my thoughts :)  Thank you Shri Ram School for this opportunity!

   बर्फ़ीली अंटार्कटिका

क्यों अंटार्कटिका  को चूर- चूर कर रहे हो ?
क्यों अंटार्कटिका  को खुद से दूर कर रहे हो?
हमें अंटार्कटिका  को बचाने के लिए कदम बढ़ाना होगा,
वरना हम इंसानों के लिए, गलत रास्ता ही बनेगा!
ओज़ोन लेयर में छेद, हो रहा है बड़ा,
अभी भी समय है, चलो हो जाएँ खड़ा!
चलो अब छोड़ो, दुनिया क्या करे,
अंटार्कटिका को बचाओ, और करो जो दिल कहे!

I'm ready for a change. Are you?

These are some changes,
In my school I would like to make,
But I don't mean to say,
My school's not nice,' for heaven's sake'!
I wish horses in school I could ride,
And by the speed limit, I didn't have to abide!
Break-time on the backfield bars, I'd love to spend,
To the break, I'd like no end!
I wish I had more sleepovers in school,
And the places for picnics could be more cool!


Now that you've read about my views,
I hope you'll understan',
In place of these new things,
Some other things I'd like to ban!
I wish I don't have to practice with dumb bells,
And look like a dumb bell,
I wish I could run away from the Sports day drill,
And shut myself away in a shell!

Dear Water....we will save you

I wrote this poem as class work in Grade III

Water, Water, Water,

Are you in a scatter?

'Sorry', I say, from everyone's side,
But I don't want, a day when you died,
As you are used for work and fun,
You wash clothes that dry, under the sun,
From the clouds you plip,
From the clouds you plop,
I'm sure it hurts,
When you drop!! :(
But now we will, take care of you,
We will give you all our love,
So fun and work you'll make us do! :)
