Ghadiyaal Babu

I wrote this poem on 9th September, 2009 for my Azoba (Grandfather)

Common Wealth Games 2010

Joy of Giving

Poor by the road,
Sadness in their mind,
They hope somebody comes,
And gives them something to cover their forward and behind,
Along comes a girl,
To give the poor things,
The girl feels happy, because of her distributing,
This is what is called, the Joy of Giving.

Suhanee is our Pearl

Meher wrote this poem for Suhanee on 22nd September 2010 for her birthday

Our dear Suhanee is now turning seven,
I want her to get, lots of blessings from heaven,
Shyness and naughtiness, is present in this girl,
She's never in a muddle, she's clear like a pearl.

I've always seen her happy, sad very less,
From my side, I'd say, she may always get success,
Like a crystal, her eyes are,
If she gets happy, she won't let you go far!!

Happy Birthday Suhanee, lots of wishes you may get,
I am sure for this day, you were ready and set!!

Book Review - George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl

This review was written during my summer holidays - June 2009, while I was in Grade II.

This is a story of a boy named George who lives with his parents and grandmother on a farm. His grandmother is very very wierd and like other grandmothers is not sweet and kind. She used to keep shouting without no reason. One day his parents had gone out and his grandmother asks for her medicine. George thinks let me have some fun. NOW THE FUN BEGINS IN THE STORY!!! So he gets a big pot and goes in the whole house looking for stuff he can mix together and give to grandma instead of medicine. So first the bathroom he goes to. From there he takes the shampoo, and squeezes the whole bottle in the pot. The he did the same thing with the liquid soap, toothpaste, oil, body wash etc. Next, the garage. From there he took grease, petrol, diesel etc. Next, the farm. From there he took pig pills and more farm animal medicines. Then, the store. From there he took brown paint. He mixed these in the pot on the gas. As soon as Goerge's medicine was made, grandma shouted "George get my medicine! Its 11O'clock." As soon as she took the medicine grandma bounced in the air and was all around the room left, right, up, down. George bursted out laughing. Grandma started growing taller, taller and taller. She became so tall that she hit the ceiling and popped up on the first floor. The she grew taller and broke the ceiling and came out of the roof. At that moment, Geoge's parents came back. His father said, Oh my God George!" Let's make some more medicine and give it to all our farm animals and make them big. But George had forgotten some things so the medicine they made was a failure. The they tried once more by mixing some more things and gave it to another hen. This time hen became tall and last time became small! Now George remembered everything he had put in the medicine. This time when they tried it on the hen it worked! The hen became big and fat. Then George and his father gave the medicine to all the farm animals. George's mother suggested that they should make grandma sleep int he hay barn as she was too tall for her bed. The next day when George went to feed the animals he realised that he had forgotten a goat. He was about to give medicine to the goat when grandma came and snatched the cup of medicine from George thinking it was her tea.She drank it. She started shrinking, and became smaller than an ant. Then she became invisible. That was the end of grandma!!!

I liked this book because it was full of imagination. In real no grandma is like this. I did not feel like putting the book down even for a second.
